“End-to-end encrypted” gets used a lot. Here’s what it actually means for you on TalkEx — without the jargon.
Only the ends can read it. When you send a message, it’s locked on your device and can only be unlocked by the person you sent it to. In between — on the network and on our servers — it’s scrambled. No one in the middle, not even us, can read it.
The keys live with you. The keys that unlock your messages stay on the devices in the conversation. We never hold a copy that could read your chats.
It covers calls and meetings too. Voice and video calls, and your meetings, are protected the same way.
You’re still in control. Add two-step verification for an extra lock on your account, use chat lock for sensitive threads, and turn on disappearing messages when you want things to auto-delete.
Privacy isn’t a setting you have to hunt for on TalkEx — it’s the default.
